I love scarves
I am Tine and I love scarves. The art of wrapping a simple piece of fabric that makes you feel comfortable and attractive. The beauty of the design and color combinations. The soft touch that its material offers you.
When did it start? My memory and the family album show that I was not into fashion as a child. I was a kid that climbed into trees, swam twice a day during the summer and raced to school even before I knew how to ride my bike.
As of the age of twelve, my interest in fashion grew as a way to embody my fantasy and to distinguish myself. I bought wool and fabrics; aunt Yvonne knitted the sweater and mom sewed the skirt according to my instructions. I explored aunt Paula’s attic looking for old garment. When aunt Brigitte payed us a visit, I wore her hat from the first till the last moment.
I got my first ‘real’ scarf when I was 16. It was a silk square in shades of red, beige and brown with hand-rolled hems. Untill today I wear this scarf … and that was the germ of this project:
